The Core i9 series is designed to meet the needs of users who must perform actions (play in 4K, live stream, edit-render videos, etc.) with a lot of energy demand. According to experts, i9-7980XE apparently outperforms AMD’s 16-core Threadripper CPU, which was to be the company’s most powerful consumer processor for 2017. New in Skylake-X
Intel Skylake-X is the arrival of the first desktop processor consisting of 18 cores, the Core i7-7980X consisting of 18 cores with Skylake architecture and HT technology to handle up to 36 threads of execution. Its ten cores operate at a maximum frequency of 4.5 Ghz and are accompanied by 18 MB of L2 cache and an L3 cache still unknown for unreachable performance. Price the main differentiator?
Those who by their profession or hobby pay special attention to the power of the processor should know that to more capacity, higher price. The Core i9 series will be priced at $ 1,999, with i9-7980XE on board. Hence Intel would have had to think about cheaper versions of 10, 12, 14 and 16 cores, with prices starting at $ 999.
